Responsibilities:

• As a member of the Cyber team, and under the guidance of the team lead, participate in various IT audit and cybersecurity-related projects
• Collaborate on audit and project documentation, including working papers and supporting materials, in accordance with auditing standards
• Effectively communicate with client counterparts to gather necessary documents, working closely with senior team members
• Collaborate with team members to support process improvements, documentation, and skill development during low workload periods, and assist with financial audits or IT operations as needed

Technical and Business Skills

• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, including operating systems, databases, and networking layers
• Familiarity with professional IT audit standards and practices
• Demonstrate knowledge of IT general controls and control objectives across information technology and related risk disciplines
• Familiarity with audit and risk frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, COBIT, NIST)
• Ability or willingness to learn how to review system architecture, configurations, and logs
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related IT disciplines.
• Pursuing or willing to pursue certifications such as CISA, COBIT, or ISO27001 is preferred
• Basic knowledge of accounting and audit principles is a plus, especially for working on financial audit support
• Solid verbal and written communication skills in both Mongolian and English
• Eager to pursue a career in IT audit, cybersecurity, governance, and management
• Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to shifting priorities while meeting tight deadlines

IT Auditor

An IT Auditor is responsible for evaluating an organization's IT systems to ensure they are secure, reliable, and compliant with relevant standards and controls. They identify risks, assess the effectiveness of controls, and provide recommendations to improve system integrity and cybersecurity.

IT audit has become a standard practice in many countries and is now playing an increasingly vital role in Mongolia. KPMG is looking for a motivated individual with an IT background who is eager to build a career in IT auditing. As part of our Cyber team, the IT Auditor will support financial audit engagements and contribute to cybersecurity-related assessments and consulting projects.
